Katy's Kolache Factory offering bonuses for new full-, part-time employees

Katy-based Kolache Factory is looking to fill some jobs and is paying to get new employees.

According to a news release, Kolache Factory has initiated the “We Want You” campaign which offers $250 signing bonuses for “successful new full-time employees.” Existing employees who refer new employees will also be eligible $250. New part-time employees - and referrals for them — will receive a $100 signing bonus, according to the company.

That’s why our ‘We Want You’ hiring campaign is rewarding both new and existing employees,” said Dawn Nielsen, chief operating officer of Kolache Factory. “We are excited to offer this great employment opportunity to people looking for full- or part-time work at one of our bakeries. Our customers have been so loyal during the pandemic, and we will do everything we can to give them a fabulous Kolache Factory experience and contribute to getting the economy moving at full force.”

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, there were “more than 9.3 million job openings available at the end of April and 9.8 million unemployed Americans.”

The chamber reported that the there was a single-month increase of 1 million jobs and that more than 2.5 million job openings have been added in 2021. Hardest hit with the greatest number of job openings have been food services with 349,000 new listings.

On June 4, the National Restaurant Association reported that “eating and drinking places are still 1.5 million jobs - or 12 percent - below pre-pandemic employment levels.”

Locally, Kolache Factory is looking to jumpstart hiring with the hiring of 100 new employees.
