Go With What You Know!

Forty-one-year-old entrepreneur Anand Patel is no stranger to the restaurant business. His father and seven uncles have always been in the hospitality industry and Anand grew up in the Texas panhandle working at and eventually managing his father’s independent restaurant and inn. After moving to Harris County with his wife and son, Patel was ready to open his own restaurant and was drawn to Kolache Factory’s unique and tasty product and family-owned roots.

“This is the best of both worlds for me. I still get to be part of a family-oriented business, but I also get to be the boss. My plan is to grow this business and open two more locations in the area. I am also looking forward to getting involved in the community,” said Patel.

Kolache Factory Chief Operating Officer Dawn Nielsen agrees Anand is a great fit for the family business her parents founded more than 35 years ago.

“Anand not only embraces our family-friendly atmosphere, he also brings a wealth of restaurant and hospitality experience that will benefit his employees, his community and the brand. We are thrilled to welcome the Patel family to the Kolache Factory family.”

The Pasadena store is the 57th Kolache Factory store for the Katy-based national franchise, and the first in Pasadena.

About the Kolache Factory

Kolache Factory was founded in 1982 in Houston, Texas, by John and Jerri Banks, who identified a need for a fresh, high-quality breakfast that could be eaten “on the run.” The Bankses encouraged consumers to try the high-quality, fresh pastries filled with fruits, meat and cheeses, and soon they were in high demand for business meetings, family breakfasts, on-the-go lunches and afternoon snacks. Kolache Factory has been recognized as one of the Top 5 Drive-Thrus in America by Food Network, one of the fastest-growing companies in Houston, and one of the top 50 foodservice bakeries in the United States by Modern Bakingmagazine. In addition, Entrepreneur magazine named it among the top 200+ food-based franchises in 2021. Kolache Factory is privately owned and operated and headquartered in Katy, Texas.
